Lab Testing

I offer routine and specialized lab testing.

I currently partner with Rocky Mountain Analytical and LifeLabs to provide patients with access to laboratory services.

Patient assessment panels, blood work and other laboratory tests provide me with a complete picture of your health.  This allows me to make informed decisions in guiding your case and finding solutions to your health problems.

Being able to requisition the lab directly also makes the process move faster and more smoothly.  Now you don’t have to go to ( or beg) your family doctor to run the tests you feel are necessary.

All tests requisitioned by a naturopathic doctor are not covered by OHIP, but may be covered by private insurance.

I provide the following assessment panels:

Lab testing

Healthy Living Assessment & Healthy Living Assessment Enhanced

These panels are great for establishing a baseline when beginning your healthy journey, and to monitor progress along your path to optimal health. They provide an overall view into the current status of your health including live, kidney, blood, electrolytes, heart and metabolic health

Nutrient Assessment

Measures your levels of A, B1, B6, B16, C, D, E, minerals, calcium, copper, magnesium and zinc

Metabolic Syndrome Assessment

Metabolic syndrome is a group of risk factors that increase the chance of developing heart disease, stroke and diabetes. Tests relevant sex hormones, inflammation and blood sugar markers

Inflammation Assessment

Inflammation occurs naturally in your body, but when it goes wrong or on for too long, it can trigger disease processes. It can increase gut permeability, interfere with hormone production and metabolism, and promote obesity. It also is a risk factor in the development of cardiovascular disease and has been implicated in mood disorders, like depression. This assessment provides insight into a variety of markers of inflammation in the body

Methylation Assessment

Methylation is a vital metabolic process that happens in every cell of our body, million times per second. It is crucial to our survival and wellbeing. Imparied methylation has been linked to increased risk of cancer, hormone imbalance, infertility, birth defects, fatigue and low energy.

Hematology Assessment

Your standard bloodwork + some. Recommended in cases of suspected anemia, nutritional deficiencies or any condition related to blood health like infections, leukemias or clotting disorders

Lipid Assessment

A standard assessment for assessing risk of cardiovascular disease, reporting on : cholesterol, triglycerides, LDL and HDL

Thyroid Panel

The thyroid gland is vital. It plays a major role in metabolism, and the growth and development of the body. If you are feeling super fatigued, gaining weight, losing hair, feeling depressed and physically cold all the time - you might need to check your thyroid.

Autoimmune Assessment

Your body’s immune system protects you from disease and infection, but if you have an autoimmune disease - your immune system attacks you by mistake. Some common diseases that fit into this category are celiac disease, diabetes type 1, graves disease, inflammatory bowel disease, multiple sclerosis, psoriasis, rheumatoid arthritis and lupus. Monitoring antibody levels may help to identify, prevent or treat potential auto-immune disorders.

Fatigue Panel

This panel provides insight into common causes of fatigue including: anemia, infection, mononucleosis and hypothyroidism

Female Hormone Assessment

Provides a view into 5 major hormones: cortisol, DHEAS, estrogen, FSH, LH, Progesterone and Testosterone. Interactions between these hormones are fundamental to overall health. If imbalances are left untreated they may develop into more serious health concerns

Female Fertility Assessment

Planning for a family? These tests provide insight into the most common hormone abnormalities that can affect fertility.

Men’s Health Assessment

This assessment includes biomarkers most relevant to men, providing an insight into concerns such as prostate health, heart disease, erectile dysfunction, testosterone levels, weight management, diabetes and stroke.
